A bar plays the same crowd-pleasers night after night. If you learn the dances that come on most often, not the rarest or the fanciest, almost every song becomes one you can join. Ranking by how often a dance actually plays here is the fastest path from “new” to “out on the floor.”
You don’t need a partner and you don’t need to know everything. Rows form, a familiar song comes on, and you follow along. Knowing even three of the regulars means you’re dancing within your first song or two. Watching the rest is how you pick up the next ones.
Right now the top three are High Class (We High Class!), American Kids, and Country Girl Shake, ranked by how often they’ve come on over the last 90 days, not just how well-known they are. Learn those first and you’ll already be dancing for a good chunk of the night.
No. Line dances are danced solo in rows. Everyone does the same steps facing the same way, so you can show up alone and fit right in.
Just a few. Learn the handful that play most often and you’ll already be on the floor for a big chunk of the night. That’s why this list is ranked by frequency. You won’t be lost if you don’t know one.

Whatever’s comfortable to move in. Boots are common but not required. Closed-toe shoes you can pivot in are plenty.
This list is specific to what gets played at Stoney's North Forty, pulled from recent nights and ranked by how often each dance comes on. Different bars play different sets, so the ranking is what makes it useful.

This ranking is only as good as the nights behind it. Regulars who share what gets played keep it honest and current. If you’re out here often, you can help.
